David Juran is senior lecturer at Columbia Business School, and has also been on the faculty of New York University's Stern School of Business. His research on the modeling of human factors in productive systems and the management of quality has appeared in Management Science, Journal of Operations Management, and other journals.
Prof. Juran teaches courses in Managerial Statistics, Decision Models, Applied Regression Analysis, and Operations Management. He is a winner of the Columbia Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence in a Core Course, Columbia's Robert W. Lear Service Award, Columbia's Margaret Chandler Memorial Award for Commitment to Excellence, and Cornell's EMBA Globe Award for Teaching Excellence.
Juran's academic interests are informed by extensive industrial and corporate experience at Pepperidge Farm, Spaulding Company, and Juran Institute, as well as his experience as an independent management consultant for organizations such as [x+1], Gordian Group, Johnson & Johnson, MarketBridge, MTV Networks, Opera Solutions, Veeco, and Carl Zeiss.
Juran earned his Ph.D. at Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management, concentrating in the fields of Operations Management, Operations Research, and Organizational Behavior.
